September greetings to all—as usual, it is so difficult to comprehend just how fast the months & years go by. We are now about a month away from Opening Night for FRENCH ‘24, a “grand finale” to a groundbreaking series that I'm confident attendees will never forget.
Pass sales for Part One (October 3-7) have been very good, and just a few remain. To give some of you stragglers one more chance to get your best deal possible, pass sales have been extended through midnight on Thursday September 5.
Here is the PayPal link for you to obtain an all-festival pass to Part One, our 14-film warmup for what will ultimately be the biggest 21st century film noir festival held in America (other than at Film Forum, of course: no one can compare to the legendary Bruce Goldstein!).
Note that the $89 pass price includes admission to our biggest event, the three-part, four-hour (and two intermissions!) presentation of the superb 1934 version of LES MISERABLES, with the great Harry Baur as the embattled Jean Valjean.
Passholders will also receive a free printed copy of my 2020 BRIGHT LIGHTS essay “The Big Sigh,” a warmup for that long-gestating book on French noir that will be available for purchase during Part Two of FRENCH ‘24 (November 29-December 3).
Thanks to all who’ve attended our series over the years and who’ve joined us on our ever-evolving journey through the “lost continent of French film noir,” which you will see commemorated and summarized on our overwhelming FRENCH ‘24 festival poster, soon to make its debut (we promise it will make your head spin!).
We’ll have more festival previews for you beginning next week. A bientot!
